BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ) — Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach surprised Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies Thursday in honor of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
“We want to know that, when we walk outside of our home, we’re free from danger,” Streckenbach told deputies at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. “You guys come to the call of duty to protect the citizens of Brown County.”
That was earlier today at the Brown County Sheriff’s office. Streckenbach presented a county proclamation to Sheriff Todd Delain acknowledging the occasion.
“I am absolutely honored and blessed to be the Sheriff [here],” Delain said during the presentation. “We as a community are very, very fortunate to have so many hard working people…dedicated to serving the community.”
A collection of photos depicting department activity over the past year was on display during the presentation.
NEW Community Shelter Volunteers dropped off lunch for the department.
Streckenbach encouraged the public to show their support for law enforcement Thursday by wearing blue, putting up blue lights outside their home or business or posting on social media.
