GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — We now know who is coming to Lambeau to take on the Packers this weekend: the Seattle Seahawks.
Ticketking’s Travis Loftus says that’s spurring sales.
“To my surprise, as soon as the Seahawks-Eagles game got done Sunday night we had a ton of overnight sales,” Loftus told WTAQ. “We went through over 200 tickets. It’s been really good.”
It’s not clear whether or not the sales are being driven by Packers fans who wanted to know the opponent before buying… or traveling Seahawks fans.
“There are a fair amount of Seattle fans that are definitely going to be coming here,” Loftus said. “It’s still going to be 85% Packers fans, obviously, but there will be a fair share of Seattle fans.”
Interest in the game is compounded by recent history. It wasn’t that long ago that the Packers and the Seahawks met each other in the 2014 NFC Championship game–the Packers lost that game 28-22 in overtime after losing a 12 point lead.
“Maybe some Packer fans are thinking ‘hey, maybe we can [do] to Seattle what they did to us a few years back,” said Loftus.
Tickets are hovering around $175 at the lowest for Sunday’s game. Kickoff is at 5:40.
