OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Oshkosh Community YMCA has found its next leader.
Jeff Schneider will take over as CEO beginning January 24th, the Oshkosh Y announced on Friday. He succeeds Tom Blaze, who is retiring.
Schneider’s career with the YMCA began in 1988 in Sheboygan County. He joined the Oshkosh Y in 1992 and has served in many roles there.
“The Oshkosh YMCA Board of Directors knew we had a difficult task in replacing Tom Blaze, a great CEO. While we weighed many options and explored all alternatives, we were fortunate that the best candidate to lead us into the future was right in our midst. Jeff Schneider has the confidence of the staff and the search committee knew he was our best choice,” Oshkosh Y Board vice-chair Tim Mulloy says in a news release.
“I am honored and blessed to have the opportunity to lead this amazing organization. Our Oshkosh Y is fortunate to have talented staff, dedicated volunteers and a strong community committed to advancing our charitable mission and enhancing the lives of children and families,” Schneider says in a news release.
