GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Taking a ride on a bus is getting more expensive in Green Bay.
The Transit Commission approved a single-ride fare increase on Green Bay Metro Transit from $1.50 to $2, starting January 1st. It’s the first single-ride fare hike in 15 years.
Other fares also will increase:
- Adult one-day pass increases from $3 to $4
- Adult weekly pass increases from $12 to $15
- Adult monthly pass increases from $35 to $39
Monthly passes account for the bulk of passengers. The last increase for that pass was in 2009, according to Patty Kiewiz, transit director.
The most recent increase for single-ride fares was in 2005, when it was increased from $1 to $1.50, she said.
