ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Seasonal nonstop flights to and from Denver are returning to Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport.
Airport leaders say the flights were popular when they were first added last summer. This year’s flights on Frontier Airlines are scheduled to run three times a week, beginning April 23 and ending in August.
Meanwhile, Frontier’s flights between Austin Straubel and Orlando, Florida, are also being extended. The flights were scheduled to end in the spring, but will now run into August. Those are also three times a week.
Airport officials say they are on pace for a second consecutive year of record traffic, after posting a 30-year high in riders in 2018.
“Year to date, through the end of November, we’ve had a 9.8% increase in passenger traffic over the same time last year,” airport director Marty Piette said in a news release.
