GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The status of 234,000 names on Wisconsin is still unclear after last week’s decision by an Ozaukee County Judge in a lawsuit filed by a conservative group.
Those 234,000 names are people in the state who are said to have moved and failed to update their voter records. Lucas Vebber is with the Institute, he says the state wasn’t purging the rolls as required by law.
“We set out to require this state agency, the Wisconsin Election Commission, to follow the law and to do exactly what they’re directed to do,” Vebber said on WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News with Matt and Earl’.
It’s a move Vebber says is designed to uphold the integrity of Wisconsin’s election.
“The first step in the electoral process is the voter roll itself,” Vebber said. “It’s about keeping that secure. Keeping that accurate.”
The six-member Wisconsin Elections Commission has deadlocked on how to address the order to remove those voters from the rolls.
