MADISON, WI (WSAU) — There will be a new option for travelers heading to Washington, DC beginning next spring.
The Dane County Regional Airport announced a new twice-daily route to Dulles International Airport on Saturday that begins on May 8th, 2020.
United Airlines will operate the flight to its East Coast hub. From there, travelers can go on to over 30 international and 270 domestic destinations.
“This new non-stop destination to Dulles connects us to another one of United’s largest hubs,” said Airport Director Kim Jones in a news release. “This new flight will bring the residents of south-central Wisconsin numerous east coast flights on United, as well as destinations throughout Europe”
Saturday’s announcement came just over a month after the Madison facility announced five new weekly destinations on SunCountry airlines including Portland, Seattle, and Nashville. That announcement was touted as the single largest expansion of the airport’s services in its history.
With the addition of Washington, DC the Dane County Regional Airport now has direct service to 24 US cities and access to nearly every worldwide destination.
Travers can begin booking flights to the nation’s capital as of Saturday.
