GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Northeast Wisconsin likes to drink.
In a survey from 24/7 Wall Street, Northeast Wisconsin made up the top three “drunkest” cities in the County. Appleton came in first, with Oshkosh-Neenah in second. Green Bay ranked third.
Wisconsin cities made up a full 12 of the top 20 ‘drunkest’ cities.
24/7 Wall Street reviewed self-reported binge and heavy drinking rates among adults in U.S. metro areas from County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute joint program to come up with their numbers.
In Appleton, 26.8% of adults drink ‘to excess’ every week. In Oshkosh-Neenah it’s 26.0%. In Green Bay it’s 25.6%.
All three cities rated high in the percentage of driving deaths involving alcohol.
