APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The mayoral race in Appleton is becoming a more crowded field, as Appleton small business owner Dana Johnson has announced his candidacy.
Dana says “The city of Appleton needs a proven leader to continue its’ prosperity and innovation into the future. I believe that small businesses can build a connected and prosperous community for all Appletonians. As an innovative, heart-forward, proven leader, I will continue the legacy of Mayor Tim Hanna’s initiatives by keeping the best and improving the rest. Appleton needs a mayor that is open to listening to all sides of an issue, putting partisan politics aside to get down to business”.
Appleton Mayor Tim Hanna announced in October that he would not be running for reelection.
Appleton’s next mayoral election is April 7th. If necessary, a primary would be held on February 18th. Nomination papers will begin circulating December 1st and are due by January 7th.
