BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ) – Black Friday might be a full week away, but gun deer season isn’t, so the doorbuster deals were rolling today at the Bellevue Fleet farm for “Orange Friday”. Over 500 hunters made their way through the doors in just the first hour.
“We have doorbuster sales going on, propane, sausage, deer blinds, there’s a lot of everything,” Store General Manager Eric Halverson told WTAQ. “Hand warmers, clothing, snacks, propane, heaters.”
It’s everything a hunter would need before heading out tomorrow. They’re even selling hunting licenses.
Dennis LaGrave was the first in line this morning. He was out with his family.
“I got up at 3:30 this morning to get the kids up and get out here by 4:30,” LaGrave told WTAQ.
Yes. A full hour and a half before doors opened at 6:00.
By the time doors did open, the line stretched across the entire front of the store and then some.
Michael Bader was one of the first through the doors. He’s an Orange Friday regular.
“Normally [I come] for the hat,” Bader said. “But we needed to get some other stuff this year before hunting. We got a new ground blind.”
The DNR was on hand to answer questions before the season begins tomorrow.
The season runs through December 1st.
Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources is urging caution all around. DNR says hunters need to be careful with their rifles and shotguns, and they need to be extra careful in their deer stands.
