APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Salvation Army red kettles across the Fox Valley are getting an upgrade, as smart chips and QR codes have been installed on red kettle signs in the Appleton area.
Donors can bump their phones against those codes, which direct them to websites where they can pay through Apple or Google Pay. Money will be sent to the local corps based on the donor’s ZIP code. The system then provides a receipt via email.
Donations to the Fox Cities Salvation Army can also be made online and by texting APL to 24365.
