APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A new nonstop service from Appleton International Airport to Nashville is now available, making the trip easier and more affordable than ever for people in Northeast Wisconsin.
The new direct flight option was announced on Tuesday morning. Airport director Abe Weber says they work on these deals based on local travel trends.
“Where are the people from Northeast Wisconsin traveling to today? And then what airline serves that market? Then you work with each airline individually on trying to add service or frequency to that destination,” says Weber.
Weber says being able to offer nonstop flights is important for travelers.
“This makes it a little easier for people to travel to their destination. It adds connectivity to our region and allows people to get where they want to go without extra hassle,” Weber tells us, “you get on the airplane in Appleton and you’re in Nashville in an hour. Then you’re available to enjoy your vacation. Plus with Allegiant Air service, now we’re looking at low fares and low costs so anyone can afford to get out of town on a little vacation.”
Appleton International Airport is teaming up with Allegiant Air to offer a couple of different options for the service, which could cost as low as $55 if purchased by November 13th for travel by August 15, 2020.
Weber says “we’re able to offer two flights a week, operating on a Monday and Friday schedule which I think is great for people who want to go for the weekend but also for people who want to go the entire week and escape some of this bitter cold.”
The service will officially start direct flights to Nashville on February 14th, 2020. Tickets are already available.
