APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Appleton Police are continuing their investigation into a shooting that took place on the north side of the city.
Thursday night, just before 10, cops were sent to the 600 block of E. Frances St. for a disturbance involving a gun.
Multiple witnesses heard gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers secured the area and confirmed a gun was involved in the incident.
Investigators were notified and responded to assist with the investigation. There were no injuries reported.
The preliminary information is that this was an isolated incident involving a dispute between two groups of individuals. Investigators would like to talk with any witnesses or anybody having information about this incident.
This investigation has also led investigators to identify Ronnie Lee Leavitt (12/13/92) as the subject who discharged the firearm. He was arrested and confined at the Outagamie County Jail on charges of Recklessly Endangering Safety.
