ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An organization is using bowling to raise money for a good cause.
On Saturday, the N.E.W Community Shelter held its 24th annual “Hometown Hero Bowl-a-Thon”.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from bowling goes toward helping the homeless shelter.
Terri Refsguard, executive director of NEW Community Shelter, tellsFOX 11 the goal is to provide supportive programs and housing to help get people on their feet again.
“It’s amazing to look at all the lanes we have nearly 200 bowlers today, which is cool because the sun is shining outside people probably could have other or better things to do but they are here for the shelteer.”
Their goal was to raise $183,000.
