BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Improvements at the Brown County Waste Transfer Station are complete and are expected to improve access and safety at the facility.
Speed and safety are key at the Waste Transfer Station. Operations Manager Chad Doverspike says kiosks and a second scale are making those goals easier to accomplish.
He says the improvements “decrease the wait time, increase customer satisfaction. We also allow them access to credit card payment, which is a lot quicker transaction for customers coming through.”
An automated scale is set for routine customers, like big trucks, but residents will also have a more efficient process.
“We also have customers that are novice, they’ve never been to the transfer station before so we need them to come onto our old scale and talk to our scale operators who can walk them through the transaction process, what to do with their waste,” says Doverspike.
Separating the line for account customers and residents is a major change that speeds up the process and makes it safer for smaller vehicles. New signs and better sightlines for staff are also expected to improve safety and flow at the facility.
“These improvements will definitely streamline our transaction process,” Doverspike says, “it’ll also allow customers to be safer, quicker transaction time, there will be way less time in line.”
The facility is located at 3734 West Mason Street in Hobart.
