WILD ROSE, WI (WTAQ) – Police are working to identify two men who stole crossbows from a sporting goods store on Wednesday.
Wild Rose police say the two walked into a combined sporting goods store and gas station around 11:20 a.m., grabbed the crossbows, and walked out without paying. Store managers attempted to confront the pair but were unsuccessful in stopping them.
Reports say the men got into a red Dodge pickup truck and took off, nearly hitting a store manager before going north on Highway 22.
The men are described as being 6-feet tall. They were both wearing baseball caps and gray jackets or sweatshirts. Their truck was described as having heavy front-end damage, black rims on the front and chrome rims on the rear. There was no license plate on the front, and the rear license plate was bent so numbers and letters could not be read.
The items stolen were Raven brand, model R-29 and R-26. They were complete packages, with scopes, quivers and cocking devices.
Police are not releasing the name or specific location of the store.
Anyone with information is asked to call Wild Rose police at (920) 622-4148.
