MADISON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A Weston man entered a guilty plea to using Twitter to sell stolen Kohl’s Cash.
Robert Gordon, 35, admitted that he schemed to steal Kohl’s Cash coupons before selling them through his Twitter account, @OfficialJigLord.
The U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release that Gordon admitted the scheme ran from June 2018 through May 2019, and that “he knew that the Kohl’s Cash coupons that he advertised, sold, and used had been stolen through credential-stuffing campaigns on Kohl’s webstore in an effort to gain unauthorized access to individual customers’ online accounts.”
The release adds that Gordon also used stolen Kohl’s Cash coupons to make purchases for himself.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 22. Gordon faces a maximum of up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud, and up to 10 years in prison for trafficking access devices. Each count also carries a maximum fine of $250,000.
