GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A local organization is working to bring awareness to human trafficking in Northeast Wisconsin.
Eye Heart World hosted an event today called Survivor Mode which featured 12 interactive stations following the path in and out of trafficking.
Each station also featured stories from a local survivor.
Organizers tells FOX 11 it is important for others to know they are not alone.
They’ll get to hear the words of survivors that we served. And it will really bring the issue to light for people. Helping them to see just how tragic a lot of these stories are, yet how hopeful a lot of them are as well. The new life these individuals are able to find with the right support,” said Brian Russo, Eye Heart co-founder.
Russo says the organization has served more than 170 survivors since 2015.
Proceeds from the event will help support Eye Heart World’s residential program for survivors called the “Rose Home.”
