APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Fox Valley Technical College received a big delivery for its Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Training Facility.
A piece of a Boeing 777 was brought in on an 18-foot flatbed on Thursday. It’s the first of several pieces the school plans to have on the site. The facility will also include two airplane props and a CESNA for airport firefighters to train on.
Associate Dean of Public Safety Cory McKone is hopeful for the new facility going up near Appleton International Airport. McKone says “to have this facility here in the Fox Valley, it’s a really exciting time because of the opportunities it’s going to present for the area as well as those who are going to be training here.”
The state-of-the-art building will help firefighting students complete FAA-required training. The facility is expected to be completed this spring.
