NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) – A man is dead after an armed robbery at the Short Branch Saloon.
“Our hearts go out to the victims family. Because of this act, we have one less person in the city of Neenah and we at the police department are not going to stand for this kind of violence in the city.”
Neenah Police Chief Aaron Olson is calling the Sunday night robbery and shooting senseless.
“We are saddened by this senseless act of violence and the police department will do everything they can do to make sure this person is taken into custody.”
The man fatally shot was reported to be a patron at the Short Branch Saloon. Chief Olson says they believe that the incident began as an armed robbery.
“There were multiple shots. It could be four, it could be five, but it was multiple shots.”
The suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash.
Olson says the investigation is turning to interviews and viewing surveillance video.
He says they are following up on leads, but the man should be considered armed and dangerous.
“If you see anything suspicious, do not confront this person, that’s where you need to call 9-1-1.”
The suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash.
“There are video cameras in the bar, and in homes from things like ring doorbell so our investigators are following up on those.”
The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a dark baseball cap, a face mask and a dark-colored sweatshirt.
He drove off in a dark four-door car with silver hubcaps.
