VILLAGE OF BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ) – Bellevue Fire and Rescue officials are crediting the quick thinking of a Festival Foods employee after a fire broke out at the Steffens Court location early Friday morning.
Officials say the report was for an electrical fire near the deli, just after 5:00 a.m.
The fire was noticed by a delivery truck driver and an employee contained the fire with an extinguisher.
Crews had to use fans and open doors to get the smoke out.
Firefighters noticed an electrical smell. They say the fire originated in a 4-outlet electrical box which also caught the surrounding shelving on fire.
Firefighters say the business having a portable extinguisher on hand and accessible kept the fire from getting worse.
