GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Two longtime employees of the Packers Pro Shop have been charged with theft, after it was discovered that money has been missing for quite some time.
67-year-old Susan Adelbush of Green Bay and 57-year-old Patty Meyer of De Pere are both facing misdemeanor Theft from a Business Setting charges.
The criminal complaint alleges that Adelbush printed duplicate receipts for items that were purchased by other customers and then returned them by pocketing the money from the register.
According to the complaint, surveillance video shows the action being done.
Adelbush told investigators that she had large debts from online shopping and was taking between $100 and $250 a month, according to the complaint.
Meyer allegedly placed holds on items and processed returns even if the items were not purchased. Meyer allegedly admitted that she has been taking money for over four years because she needed cash. Meyer told investigators that she believes she stole between 10-12 times and the total was between $1,000 and $2,000, according to the criminal complaint.
Meyer told investigators that she was not working together with Adelbush to steal money. Meyer worked for the Pro-Shop for 22 years, Adelbush worked there for 15 years.
Both could receive up to nine months in jail in convicted.
