GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Police Department says a 2-year-old child visiting family was hit by a car Sunday afternoon.
“In the investigation, officers learned that a child passed away due to results of the crash,” said Green Bay Police Commander Kevin Warych.
The incident happened 2500 block of Dunbar Lane around 3:45.
“When officers arrived, they located a situation involving a car versus a pedestrian.”
Police say the child was taken to the hospital and died from the injuries.
“In a situation involving the death of a child, it really hurts everyone and puts life into perspective. We want people to be safe no matter how old they are.”
Officers would not say if the child was a boy or girl but called the situation tragic.
There are no charges being referred as of present day.”
Warych says accident reconstruction responded to the scene and it is going to take them an extended period of time to understand why this crash occurred.”
