GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – If you ever thought about getting involved in a fitness class the Greater Green Bay YMCA wants to show off the options they have available…and this week it’s free.
The Y’s first-ever Community Fitness Week runs through Friday and you’re invited to drop in, and take part in any of the classes that are free to members.
“All of the classes that are normally reserved for members only, we’re inviting the community to come and try them out as well.”
Marcia Sengstock is at the westside Y in Howard, one of the branches taking part in Community Fitness Week.
“It basically gives anyone in the community, whether they’re a member or not, an opportunity to come in and participate in all of our group exercise offerings.”
Classes range from aerobics to zoomba.
“Cardio-based classes, where you’re not really doing any type of strength training, you’re going to do cardio-training, we have cardio kickboxing.”
Sengstock says there’s plenty of room at the Y branches and basically something for everyone.
“We definitely have the capacity to take more people into our group fitness classes. We offer over 200 classes a week.”
