GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A new pediatric emergency center opened at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
The HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital K.C. and Georgia Stock Pediatric Emergency Center will provide emergency services to children of all ages, all day, every day.
The center offers kids a play area, a waiting room and six patients waiting rooms, all reflecting the natural beauty of Wisconsin’s Northwoods with designs on the walls.
The rooms even include colored lights in the ceiling that change to the child’s preference.
“We know that often times when children and families come, they’re coming to the emergency care center because they’ve been injured or they’re experiencing an illness, often times there’s a higher level of stress, anxiety or sometimes discomfort and within these spaces, we can actually enhance their experience and really soothe them and have a better, positive experience,” said Heidi Warpinski, executive director of HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and Prevea Pediatrics.
Patient rooms also offer more space so more family members can be with the child during their stay.
