GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A Milwaukee man was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of illegally possessing a gun in Winnebago County.
36-year-old Nicholas Nelson had a .40 caliber semiautomatic handgun in a vehicle in Fox Crossing back in February 2017.
Previous felony convictions prohibited Nelson from owning a firearm.
It was learned that the gun was stolen from Milwaukee.
Nelson was found guilty in federal court in July 2019.
Nelson was also sentenced to three years on supervised release.
