TOWN OF CENTER, WI (WTAQ) – A crash in Outagamie County early this morning leaves injuries and the road closed for hours. Here’s the release from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office:
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at approximately 6:04 am the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a crash on County Road A north of County Road S in the Town of Center where one vehicle was on fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished by first responders upon arrival. The investigation on scene revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on County Road A received a flat tire while driving over the railroad tracks and crossed the center line striking another vehicle traveling southbound on County Road A.
Both driver’s suffered serious injuries from the crash.
One driver was transported via Theda Star helicopter while the other driver was transported via Gold Cross ambulance to the hospital.
County Road A between Center Valley Road and County Road S remains closed for inspection of the railroad crossing.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Grand Chute Police department, Theda Star Helicopter, Gold Cross Ambulance, and Center Fire Department-First Responders.
