APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Appleton Police Investigators are looking for assistance in locating witnesses to a shooting.
On Sunday, at approximately 5:40 AM Officers were sent to a building in the 500 Block of West Johnston St. for a welfare check. Upon arrival, they found a deceased 47-year-old male. An autopsy was conducted Monday morning by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office and they determined the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The preliminary information we have is that there was a gathering in the basement at this address.
There was some type of disturbance which took place between several individuals and multiple gunshots occurred.
Police released several photographs taken from surveillance video of people at the gathering and are encouraging people to contact them to assist in determining what happened.
