UPDATE: OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – Oshkosh Police have 5 people in custody, 4 juveniles and one 17 year old, in a series of property damage cases involving BB Guns.
Cops say the crimes occurred between Saturday and Sunday.
Tips from the community led police to the suspects.
Police say the BB guns that were used in these incidents had been stolen from a local retail store.
Residents are being asked to check their property for any damage and surveillance cameras as the investigation continues.
The Oshkosh Police Department is investigating a series of property damage that was caused by BB Guns.
“These were individual citizens calling to report the damage to their property.”
Officer Kate Mann of the Oshkosh Police Department says the damage occurred between Saturday and Sunday during the hours of darkness.
The damage was located on 16 different streets.
“It doesn’t seem to be centered in one specific location, these locations are pretty much throughout the city. If you look at the addresses they come from completely opposite sides of the city.”
Reports of damage included car windows, house windows and siding on houses.
“It really an inconvenience for all of these victims.”
Residents are being asked to check any surveillance cameras for any suspicious behavior or vehicles during that time frame.
“To see if they have any video surveillance during that timeframe.”
Police have released the streets where the damage reports came from.
