GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A lawsuit filed against the Green Bay Department and several officers involved in a fatal 2015 shooting is being dismissed.
Joseph Biegert was shot and killed in his apartment during a welfare check. His mother had called police after Biegert texted her after an apparent suicide attempt.
Police say Biegert attacked responding officers during a welfare check.
Biegert’s mother, Toni, acting as the administrator for his estate, filed the wrongful death suit against the City of Green Bay, then-Chief Tom Molitor, Officer Matthew Dunn, Officer Brian Krueger, and 10 police officers identified only as John Does #1-10.
It claims Biegert was “unlawfully subjected to excessive force” by the officers.
