GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Gas Prices are down just in time for the holiday weekend.
A drop in crude oil prices comes at the right time.
“Nationally, gas prices are down for the sixth straight week.”
Patrick DeHaan of Gasbuddy.com says this is going to be one of the best Labor Day’s in recent years.
“Prices in most areas of the country are going to be at their lowest Labor Day level since 2016.”
The trend has been going on for some time this summer, and prices may continue to drop even after the end of summer.
“We switch back to cheap winter gasoline in about two and half weeks and of course demand will start to drop off.”
Prices this Labor Day will be about 15 cents lower than last year.
“It really is not too shabby to have the most affordable Labor Day at the pump.”
He said in 2017, prices were on the high side after Hurricane Harvey.DeHaan says any kind of trade agreement with China will likely cause a rise in the crude oil prices for a short period of time.
“There could be a few bumps in the road, but it is not all bad news.
