CHILTON, WI (WTAQ) – A Calumet County man who caused a fatal crash while under the influence of marijuana was sentenced Monday.
18-year-old Easton Brassfield will serve six years for causing the accident that killed 21-year-old Darius Finnie last December.
Brassfield was driving on Lemke Road when he lost control and rolled the vehicle.
He was sentenced to five years in prison for the reckless homicide count, and placed on extended supervision for another five years.
He was also sentenced a year in jail, consecutively, for the injury count, according to the Calumet County clerk of courts office.
Two of the other passengers in the vehicle said group had been at a fast-food restaurant, and that Brassfield was among those smoking marijuana shortly before the crash.
