HOWARD, WI (WTAQ) – It’s not the biggest road project in Brown County in terms of length.
But the third of a mile makeover going on along Vincent Road in Howard promises a smoother ride and more importantly, a much safer one.
“It’s going to be a dramatic difference for people traveling through the area.”
Geoff Farr is the Village of Howard Public Works Director.
The real improvement here is a widened roadway turn that’s safe to get around with good visibility and replacement of the bridge.”
Farr says another element of the project-centered on Beaver Dam Creek.
“Realignment of the curve required that the bridge be moved from its longtime location and the stream had to be realigned.”
Another feature is a pathway along the road that will not only make it safer for pedestrians but connect Green Bay to the Mountain-Bay State TrailTrail.
Planning for this project actually started back in 2013. But the heavy-duty equipment started moving the dirt around in June.
The goal was to have Vincent Road re-opened by Labor Day, but weather delays held things.
Farr says barring any other unexpected delays work should be completed by mid-September.
