MARQUETTE, MI (WTAQ-WLUK) – They made a promise to the people of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and over the weekend Mountain Dew delivered.
The story begins earlier this summer when the company incorrectly included the U.P. as part of Wisconsin in a map for its DEWnited States summer campaign ad.
After Yoopers pointed out the mistake, Mountain Dew said it would make up for it by creating a limited edition bottle label, filled with images that make the U.P. special.
Fans of the drink lined up outside the Upper Peninsula Supply Company in Marquette Sunday to receive a U.P. bottle, t-shirt, and posters.
Only 906 U.P. Mountain Dew Labels have been made and will not be sold in stores.
They will be available at the U.P. State Fair in Escanaba this week.
