FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ) – The Fox Crossing Police Department said the Village passed the most recent compliance check with flying colors.
According to Community Liasion Officer Dan Wiechman, every retailer that was checked upheld the law and refused the sale of tobacco to the youths on the compliance team.
Every year the Winnebago County Health Department’s WI Wins team, re:TH!NKLakeshore Tobacco Prevention Network, and the Fox Crossing Police Department allpartner to conduct compliance checks at all Fox Crossing businesses that sell tobaccoproducts.
A violation would have resulted in a fine of $199.60.
“Next time you see a retailer checking an ID, be sure to say “thank you” for helping to keep our youth healthy!”
