GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Packers return to Lambeau Field on Friday for Family Night and with that Police say fans should think preparation and compliance when coming for the event.
Safety and Fun, that is what the Green Bay Police Department are ready to stress at this year’s family night. As the official kickoff to the season of games at Lambeau Field, Commander Kevin Warych says law enforcement does not have time to be in preseason mode, it’s game on for the department.
He says people should be aware of increased traffic.
“There will be roads blocked off and roads designated one way, so we want people to be aware of that.”
Warych says it is also important for people to remember where they park.
“We see it all the time, people park in a neighborhood and walk to Lambeau and after they get turned around a little bit and come out and have a difficult time finding their vehicle.”
When trying to enter the stadium, Warych says know what you are bringing in so you don’t run into an inconvenience.
“People bring in large purses and large bags and they are too big and they have to be turned away at the gate.”
He says people then need to return them to their vehicle and that can be a big inconvenience.
The best thing is to become familiar with bag restrictions prior to leaving home.
The Green Bay Packers have posted the bag restrictions on their website.
