APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Let the songs begin, the Mile of Music returns to Appleton with the return of a popular venue.
“It just that sense of community that music pulls together and we have that chance here at Jones Park to make it special.”
The 7th mile includes the return of Jones Park. On Wednesday, a ribbon-cutting was held for the park that has undergone a two-year renovation but opened in time for the bands.
“The artists that we are going to have down here, they are excited to play. Some of them had played the festival before but did not have a chance to see Jones Park.
Dave Willems, Executive Producer of the Mile Of Music says it will provide a boost to the festival. He says, however, there will be some little hiccups that they will have to figure out along the way since they are doing the trial run for the park.
“It is a little tight for things like serving food and the beer, so those things are the things that we are going to be the guinea pigs on,” Willems said.
He says Jones park will be in the sun for most of the days so people should be prepared to not have much shade.”People need to remember to bring their hats and their caps and their sunscreen because it is going to be a warm one from that standpoint.”
Mile of Music runs through Sunday
