SISTER BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Door County Sheriff’s Department responded to a multiple-vehicle crash that injured five people Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff Officials say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
The three-vehicle crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on State Highway 57, north of Orchard Rd. in Sister Bay.
According to investigators, a 26-year-old Bailey’s Harbor woman was driving a Ford Escape southbound when she struck a northbound Nissan Rouge that was being operated by a 25-year-old Sister Bay man. The woman’s vehicle then crashed head-on into a Suburban that was being driven by an Illinois man.
The driver of the Suburban was flown from the scene to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the passenger of the Suburban was taken to the hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford Escape was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Nissan Rouge had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
