GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay is getting an opportunity to host the Ohio Valley Regional Baseball Tournament at Joannes Stadium this weekend.
Teams from seven states, including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin are competing.
“We are also working closely with the six hotels that are hosting the teams,” Krainik says. “We do everything we can do to make sure to make the teams aware of everything that there is to see and do in the Greater Green Bay area.”
This is the first time that Green Bay has gotten the chance to host the tournament and Brenda Krainik, Direction of Marketing for The Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau says they are putting their best foot forward.
“We have welcome signs at the hotels that they are staying at, and we are really working with the Tournament Director to make sure that the teams and families have access to what they need.”
The CVB estimates that the tournament will have a $380,000 dollar economic impact.
“For a baseball tournament that is happening in our community, that is a great economic impact.”
The Tournament runs with games through Sunday.
The players are between the ages of 16 and 18 years old.
Tickets for adults are 10 dollars for a day pass and 25 dollars for an all-tournament pass.
