GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Police have identified three teens that were arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting on Green Bay’s west side Thursday evening.
Attempted first-degree intentional homicide charges have been recommended by officers against 17-year-old Alejandro Hernandez, 17-year-old Angel Jesus Vazquez, and 16-year-old Joan Zavaleta.
Additionally, police are recommending that Vazquez be charged with operating a firearm while intoxicated and Zavaleta be charged with bail jumping.
All three are scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon.
A fourth person of interest is being investigated in connection with the incident.
Criminal cases involving 17-year-olds are handled in adult court in Wisconsin and so are homicide cases that involve defendants ages 10 and older.
The three individuals were arrested on the Mason Street Bridge Thursday following the shooting at the corner of Biemeret and 14th streets.
According to police, between 10 and 15 shots were fired during the incident.
The suspects were found after one of the people in the area shot their vehicle with a paintball, which helped officers locate the vehicle.
No one was injured in the shooting.
The mother of the boy who shot the paintball gun, says the shooting stemmed from a dispute over a 17-year-old girl.
Police have confirmed that they are investigating that as a possible motive.
