GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a 2016 killing that took place in Green Bay following a drug deal.
31-year-old Richard McKinney was also placed on extended supervision for 20 years.
McKinney entered an Alford plea to reckless homicide in connection to the death of Guled Hirsi, which took place at a Cherry Street residence on September 11, 2016.
The plea means that he maintains his innocence, but acknowledges that prosecutors had enough evidence to obtain a conviction.
McKinney was originally facing an intentional homicide count, which would have carried a life prison term.
Earlier, Michael McCalvin was sentenced to 10 years in prison for helping to arrange the meeting between Hirsi and McKinney.
