For the second time in 34 years, Farm Aid will take place on Wisconsin soil. Alpine Valley will host the benefit concert on September 21st. The first state Farm Aid appearance was in 2010 at Miller Park in Milwaukee. Farm Aid has raised $57 million to support family farms since 1985.
“Everybody in this country should have access to good food. And the people produce the best food – our family farmers – should be able to produce it without being afraid of going hungry themselves because they can’t make ends meet. These are the values that bring Farm Aid to Wisconsin this year.” ~ Dave Matthews

“We’re bringing Farm Aid to the heartland because we need to show the country what’s happening to the people who grow our food and take care of our soil and water,” John Mellencamp said in a statement. “We want family farmers to know that we won’t let them go down without a fight. And neither should you–farmers need us, and we need farmers.”
