STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The historic Sturgeon Bay granary has been moved back to its original location.
The granary was first moved in March 2018 to the east side, but on Monday, it was carefully moved back across the river.
The Sturgeon Bay Historical Society says that restoration and foundation plans are still being developed.
“The granary is such an important part of what I would call the history and the postcard of Sturgeon Bay. You have the working waterfront here, the tugboats, and the historic granary. So to get them all reunited again feels really good,” says Kelly Catarozoli, from the Sturgeon Bay Historical Society.
Catarozoli adds that its use will be something which will honor its heritage as the Teweles & Brandeis granary.
