GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The gun used in the May 15 Appleton officer-involved shooting that killed a firefighter and resulted in the death of the gunman is not used that often.
Police say Ruben Houston used a .380 handgun which is small and easy to conceal.
“The biggest advantage it’s got is that you can make the gun very small.”
Dale Raby from Gus’s Guns in Green Bay says it can accurately hit a target up to 21 feet away.
“If you are using a gun like this, it is for a defensive situation. We don’t usually recommend these to people.”
The .380 holds six bullets.
Police say Houston fired five of those.
