MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Manitowoc Police are investigating after the body of a man was found behind a business.
According to police, they were called just after 2 p.m.Thursday to the 200 block of Maritime Dr. for a man who was found deceased, concealed by brush and greenery.
The man’s identity is unknown and investigators hope that pending DNA and toxicology testing will help confirm the identity and determine the cause of death.
X-rays confirmed that the man did not have any broken bones.
Police say he was wearing a dark brown leather jacket, a blue t-shirt, blue jeans, white socks and size 10 white shoes.
The deceased is believed to be in his 50’s and is less than 6 feet tall. They say he possibly had a beard or goatee and graying hair.
The coroner believes that the body may have been located there for about three weeks.
Due to the extreme decomposition, no identifying marks were located.
