ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Twelve teams and 116 participants raised money to help cure cancer Saturday.
The event called “Pulling Together for a Cure” had people pull a 94,000-pound firetruck at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport.
Cancer survivors, like Robert Mohar, were also part of the teams that pulled the truck.
“It’s a fantastic experience [the event]. Everyone that’s been through a cancer experience, it’s a tough road and if you can give something back for people that are still fighting… I was blessed to get through it and there’s not a family in the Green Bay Metro area that hasn’t been touched by cancer.”
The online event page shows teams raised $27,577 Saturday.
