ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – A $14 million project in Ashwaubenon is complete as Capital Credit Union Park has officially opened.
The park has over 2200 fixed seats, but a variety of viewing options.
Brian Kuklinski, Corporate Advertising Manager with the Booyah, says that fans can take in a game from box seats, a suite, or standing room only in order to roam around and take it all in.
“We want you to have so much fun during the game with all the different promotions we’re doing on the field,” says Kuklinski. “With the way you can move around this huge facility and different ways you can watch the game.”
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday afternoon, the team’s mascot, Rocky Bal-Booyah, stopped by to take part in the event.
Early on, it’s obvious that the focus will be on having fun all summer long.
“Our goal when you leave the game is to not even know what the score was,” explains Kuklinski.
For those involved in the whirlwind transformation of the space, it’s satisfying to see all the hard work finally completed.
“It’s a relief and excitement, all at the same time,” says Kuklinski.
The park will be shared between both the Booyah and Green Bay Voyageurs FC.
The Voyageurs are part of the United Soccer League 2 and the team will play 10 home games this year.
Their first game at Capital Credit Union Park is Friday night.
While the Green Bay Booyah has their inaugural game set for Saturday at 7:05 p.m. against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
For those wishing to see the new park up close, you still have an opportunity.
“We can do right around 4,000 [fans] for baseball,” he explains. “There are limited seats left, but there are still some seats available.”
He says tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket office in person, which is located outside the park.
