ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A brand-new turf field, more than 2,000 fixed seats, and all-inclusive suite areas, Capital Credit Union Park has a lot to like in a new ballpark.
One thing that’s missing is a large, convenient, parking lot.
“We’ve identified over 1,500 parking spaces within a quarter mile away from the ballpark,” said John Fanta, Vice President of Green Bay Booyah.
Those spaces are scattered between 16 parking lots. The Green Bay Booyah has a map on its website, showing what businesses will allow event parking for the stadium.
Gordmans is the only parking lot where tailgating will be allowed. The map also shows a number of streets where parking is available.
“I think most folks in this area are accustomed to walking to Lambeau Field for a game day,” said Fanta.
“Anywhere that you’re going to park close to the facility with those 1,500 spots are going to be anywhere closer than you’re parking outside of the main Lambeau Field parking lot, so I think proximity-wise, we feel pretty confident.”
The Bar on Holmgren Way is one of the many businesses offering parking. Owner Brent Matthews tells FOX they’re hoping to boost business at a time when its normally longing for Packers season to start.
“I think a lot of people will be interested to come down and see the facilities and see what kind of product they put on the field.”
Brian Kuklinski, Corporate Advertising Manager of Green Bay Booyah, tells FOX 11 there are other options for those fans who do not like the idea of having to walk to the stadium.
“We do have a partnership with the Green Bay Distillery. They’re providing shuttle service to and from the stadium. If you head there before the game, you can jump on the shuttle, and come right over here. They’ll drop you off at the front gate.”
There is also a drop-off lane in front of the stadium for fans using ride-sharing services.
There is going to be some parking next to the stadium at Ashwaubenon Village Hall.
Handicap spaces are also available directly in front of the park.
The Green Bay Voyageurs FC, a soccer team, plays the first game at Capital Credit Union Park this Friday. The Green Bay Booyah play their first game at the stadium on Saturday.
