GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A seven-year debate has finally ended for the Green Bay City Council.
In Tuesday night’s meeting, the council approved a $2.5 million bid to renovate the Colburn Pool.
The vote ensures work will begin at the end of the summer to try to keep the pool open another 20 years.
There was a concern that the work came in 25% higher than the city originally projected.
However, the higher price tag was not more than the city originally bonded for the project, which was $3.5 million.
The new amount means there won’t be as much money for future pool repairs and bond repayment.
