Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to 29 Woods Place Sunday afternoon for a report of smoke coming from the house.
When firefighters got there, they saw heavy smoke on the first floor.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.
The home suffered substantial damage. One person in the house had to be taken to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
